Gathering thoughts…
A world of little thoughts.
This is my first post on nicheless. It seems like an interesting microblogging app. I like how minimalist the interface is. I even like this font. The onboarding process was easy. Getting the web page as an app icon on my iPhone screen was seamless. 300 words is a lot. That last word was my 50th. I wonder how this…
I wish I had followed up on my previous post. Now I completely forgotten what part 2 was suppose to be. So I have this Part 1.5 as an update for myself. We now have rumours and hints that Cortex X4, on 3nm may be able to get 15% Clock Speed increase, and possibly 15% or 20% IPC increase. On a 15%/15% increase that…
Regardless of what you do, we all have little moments in our daily life, where our minds get cluttered up with all kinds of negative thoughts, So, what do you do to get yourself out of it? this blog is just for it. I read a lot of self-help books, and everyone seems to have a different answer to this issue.…
The protests in India, which began mid June under the label of CJP or Cockroach Janta Party, took a life of its own when Gen Z made their aspirations known on social media using instagram in full force. This combination of youth, frustration, joblessness, directionless leadership and a bleak future was a recipe for…
Few things offend me more than ignorance masquerading as knowledge. “In our polarised world, a productive disagreement is a rare occurrence. People would rather talk to a stranger who shares their political views than a friend who doesn’t. That’s a travesty.” When you preach, you’re trying to convert people to your…
Imagine my third-grade surprise when I got to Kingston the first time since migrating and found out our driver was named "Drugs." My grandmother arranged the pickup and everyone was saying this name like it was a normal title. Like his name was John or Joe. Except, it was a word that'd been drilled into my head the…
Good Evening. It is 0:24 AM where I am right now. It is nice to write words again. Tt feels good to do something that's not participating in the negativity and cynicism and general heat of 21st century mainstream media. Here's to a new sincerity, to humanity, to thoughtfulness, and the generosity that's only possible…
If someone were to actually see how I'm doing this right now, they'll realise that the question isn't rhetorical. I'm dictating this to be transcribed directly on screen. I like this kind of dictation-transcription because I'm very used to doing this in my daily professional work. I know some purists among journalers…
In late October 1983, Dad handed me 2 tickets for India-West Indies at Feroz Shah Kotla. Back then, watching live Test cricket was the pinnacle of entertainment for most teenage boys. "Take Nishit and go after school". Original intentions were noble. A change of clothes went into the school bag (didn't want the…
Step 7 - While the cooker stuff is happening, you can start on the second component, which is the rice. Boil the water (almost 2 + 2 times the cup of rice added) only with the bay leaf, a cardamom and a clove and a few drops of oil. Add a few leaves of mint. Squeeze a little lemon for a zing. Step 8 - Add the soaked…
Any sufficiently developed theory that seeks to explain and predict phenomena will eventually cross the boundary from prediction to control. You don't get nuclear bombs without first developing nuclear physics. You don't get CRISPR without the study of genetics. And you definitely don't get behavioral modification…
Today, I met up with people from my CDTM class, an add-on study program in Munich. These are people I met just a year ago, and catching up with them, it's crazy to see how they’re all doing big things. In this circle, it seems almost normal - but it’s not. I believe a big part of this is being part of the CDTM program…
I'm no more on a streak. Couldn't write yesterday. Nevertheless, the 30-essay series still continues. Today I am writing about productivity - a topic that is beaten to death a million times, every day, day after day. Well, this one is a different. I'm not selling a "I-know-it-all-shoving-it-down-your-throat"…
hoping for a universal salvation. hoping that up and above, his mercy is so immense, that though every human soul, when even when they repent, is forgiven and chooses salvation. yet when every human soul is forgiven, teachings are useless and what they preach is disregarded as every sin is still forgiven, no matter…
At a bare minimum, they provide a means for the redistribution of wealth, outside of that, they seem to provide no economic value. They can be used as a tool to better your technical analysis skills as well, and may result in great profits for the individual, at someone else's cost. This can be justified using 2…
"Act the way you'd like to be and soon you'll be the way you act." -Leonard Cohen I can’t agree more. Journaling small gratitude brought more gratitude into my life. Writing about the small steps and wins brought more positives. Small gratitudes and positives became easier to identify. My journaling both became a…
Dear person, I am waiting, waiting for you to make a grand entrance and take my breath away as you exit the stage and keep it with you until my heart stops beating. I am deranged yet lucid enough enough to love you till my mind gets lost beyond the depths of the world. I am waiting for when we would just sit together…
It’s a common excuse. I don’t have time. If you want it bad enough, you make time. That’s the way I felt when I started my 30-day experiment on journaling gratitude. Now I have a full-blown journaling habit. I'm really grateful for it. You can build a journaling habit. It doesn’t take that much time. Here was my…
Two habits merged to convince me I could journal gratitude daily. I kept a food and water journal for health reasons. I eat and drink every day. I was already setting up a “journal” each morning. It took my first cohort in Ship 30 to show me I could write daily. There is a big difference between a list of food and…
I wanted to have a stellar career early amongst my peers. For that I started to learn things of my interest which later could become a part of my skillset. But while interning at Blinkit, I listened to my manager's career transitions from Marketing to Sales and all. This made me search skillsets of specific job roles…
No entanto, podemos identificar algumas tendências, e…
"PKM is not so much about creating knowledge but rather the development of conscious regular activities from which new knowledge can emerge." Harold Jarche I am re-taking Jarche's PKMastery 40-day Workshop. I first took the workshop in 2015, which includes access to subsequent workshops as Jarche evolves his material…
I wrote 2 drafts with some ideas about topics I could write about... they are gone. I can't recall what they were about, as much as I sit around and try to remember, I'm still left with just a blank page in my brain. This shows how important it is to write your ideas the moment they pop out because everyone has good…
From Epics thousands of years old up to James Bond and the classic Magnificent 7. We're all familiar with the idea of the hero's journey. A chaotic situation is resolved when the hero overcomes the monster and order is restored. The interplay of these forces is deeply embedded in human nature. Symbolically, think of…
This isn't the first time I am attempting to maintain a streak. I've done it before. In 2019, I kept a diary and wrote a line or two about each day of the year. Sometimes it would be detailed, while at others, not so much. In 2018, I started doing the daily house chores with full intention. I would help at home as…
Care is the gravity that holds a group together. It is the practical stuff of hospitality, like preparing for a meeting or cleaning up afterwards. It's also emotional work, like noticing that someone is not having a good time, and checking in with them. Without care, a group falls apart. It’s safe to assume that in…
Sometimes, the best thing that you can do for yourself and the one you love is to let go. It's a difficult decision but is also the right decision.
You’ll find I’m inclined to decline your kind line to wine and dine, as I pine to recline and unwind my mind.
where do i begin...? all the resolutions i write + lives i dream of + + the girl i try to be + + she's getting a little closer to who i am, each year + + am i changing for the better or is she + in 2023, i want: 1. softness wisdom discipline 2. creative passions and personal goals - pottery, making coffee, doing…
I have a lot of complicated feelings about speculative design as a practice. Its heralded to be this radical tool for guiding us in dreaming about the futures that we want to live in, therefore making us believe that what we can dream, we can create. While there is truth to this, much of the design fiction and…
(original: 12 February 2006) and back east? ... there's a nor'easter & it's nutty. why people love SD's weather! ... it's the middle of february, FCOL! this is what the SD bay looked like across the street from solar turbines. my worries for today? sunscreen, hydration, air conditioning, and focus. yup! focus is hard…
Such a stupid word, really. Disappointment. According to Oxford, "sadness or displeasure caused by the nonfulfillment of one's hopes or expectations." While I've never enjoyed the spotlight during recognition of accomplishments, even birthdays, I learned pretty recently how greatly disappointed I feel when my…
Because you don’t take everything personal Maturity tells you when it’s about the world not about you If someone is behaving like disrespecting you Find a way to make them know it’s their fault first Stand your own fucking ground Understand it’s not you it’s them You’ve matured First you already control your emotions…
When we spotted her garden from far away we were theorising on what could be growing. One of her family members spotted us leaf and drain inspectors. They rolled their eyes and made way for Ajita kakima to take charge. The matriarch introduced all the trees like her old friends. There was jamun, mango, banana,…
I was wondering about how long it takes to get the results of a blood culture and the fact that they don’t yield great results in most cases, which led me to think about flow cytometry and how it might be able to detect bacteria faster than waiting for bacteria to grow in a blood culture. Turns out other people have…
furthermore, i think city folk and even suburbanites should go back to the countryside (because that's where everyone is from, originally; and before that, the wilderness) and start farming again i'm preaching the opposite of that movie "interstellar" where they make farming a dirty ignoble thing and make high-tech…
I might come off sounding like a sociopath in this post, but oh well. Here goes. I realized today at work that I don't like when people agree with me. I'm on a new team and I've noticed a lot of problems with our processes. There seems to be a lack of automation. Other software engineers may know what I'm talking…
¿De qué sirve hacer mucho? ¿De qué sirve hacer poco? ¿Quién se servirá lo que quedó? ¿Cuánto estaremos aquí? ¿Mucho? ¿Poco? ¿Quién puede saberlo? ¿De qué tenemos que pedir perdón? ¿De qué nos van a perdonar? ¿Quién puede pedir perdón? ¿Quién puede otorgarlo? ¿Quién nos traicionó? ¿Quién nos engañó? ¿Quién fue el que…
One of life's mysteries is how we get stuck too easily as we age. We make assumptions based on past experiences. We hold back from new adventures based on how others act. We say 'no' before we have even tried. My granddaughter and I were playing with a bottle of bubbles in the front yard. She can come up with endless…
I like how dreams work. (no not the one you see with eyes wide open) Every day is a new beginning. You never know what's coming next. I always wanted to do bungee jumping. It's one of the few dreams I have. but a few weeks back, I just did that in my dreams. The next morning I woke up sad because now I know how it…
Not really sure how this goes, but I do like the 300 word cap. Halloween was last night and it's always fun to see the kids all dressed up. I'm more of a dress up parent. It feels inauthentic to be walking around on Oct. 31 in your regular people clothes. It's like a no judgement / everyone accepted day. More men opt…
i’ve never met her and i hope i never will but i know you and i know me we fit so, may my plea never find you; just don’t say ‘i do’ please
What are you doing with your time, that makes you feel like it's not being wasted?
Twenty-four years ago, I had a great idea. I started a journal to record my sons' actions and words. Sometimes I look back at old photos and wonder about the details behind the picture taken. A written record provides even more details. My great idea lasted about eight months. Then nothing. Now I am writing and…
Can we all just agree to spell the word "thru?" Imagine the environmental impact of saving all those electrons and ink not having to write "through." Probably won't happen, tho.
