web3 and fud
I have a love and hate relationship with fud.
In general, I think it's necessary, especially in a space where 95% of the projects are going to 0. It's good to have some skepticism, but sometimes it's just too much.
I've been a cool cat supporter since September. Mainly discovered it through Andrew Wang and a few of my friends talking about it and I also wanted to find the "next BAYC."
I remember being so excited to join an amazing community that was trending upwards. And then Cooltopia happened. Or rather, it didn't.
And that's when the fud started. To be fair, I think some of it was warranted, but most... not really.
The problem with web3 is that most people prefer the "what ifs" and announcements of announcements instead of the actual product that is delivered. The best project is always "which one has pumped my bag recently" and not "which teams are actually trying to execute on something."
In web2, most companies would deliver the most half-asses product where 1 truly good thing was working and the rest sucked. But because you believed in the vision, in the founder and the team, then you'd suck it up and continue using it because you saw that it truly solved an issue of yours.
Building a good product is hard and building a game is probably 10-100x times harder. I'm not saying the team has no blame to take, but the least we could do is give them a chance and see what happens in the next few months.
Yes, it sucks that my bags are tanking, but because I believe in the team long-term, I'm willing to give them a chance to prove me right for holding. I just wished others would do the same.
