"The clear breakthrough for me
Was realizing everyone I was admiring online, spent most of their time creating and engaging offline" - @hipcityreg
There's a french expression that goes "goutte d'eau qui fait déborder le vase" which effectively translate to "the last drop to make the vase overflow" and that's what Reggie's tweet did for me.
As someone who wanted to remain in degen, but also be an active participant in the DAO space, and also build my personal brand through thoughtful writing, it's been hard to merge everything all together.
I wanted to be super active in every new project discord to get WL, while also actively participate in alpha chats to be on top of what's the best new project, but I also wanted to research these projects to write threads/articles on these to post them on Twitter all the while trying to dedicate the 40h a week (at the very least) to Station.
And it just didn't work. I prioritized what I needed to (Station), but then I would butcher whatever else I was doing.
I realized that I was too online. I would spend easily 3-4 or even more hours on Twitter/Discord combined, but this also meant I was consuming, consuming and consuming and not producing.
This is where Reggie's quote hit me.
If I wanted to be the person I wanted to be, I had to stop consuming (as much) and dedicate more hours into producing.
That's why right before I started writing this post, I deleted Twitter and Discord from my phone. And I actually hesitated for 5 min.
It's scary... feeling "offline", but I think it's for the best and I'm actually excited to see what happens.
I want to spend more time writing, researching and publishing. This is just the first step.
