two underrated skills to have pt.2
in my last post, i wrote about how persistence is a good skill to have in a world where it's as easy to drop into a dao then to drop out of it (or most of the time ghost the dao).
a tangential skill that is hand in hand with persistence is focus.
focus is something that is underrated in a world where our attention span is so low, but is especially useful in a 24/7 world like the web3 space.
there is always something happening and there is always something new to learn.
in web3, id say you have 3 big categories that you can dive into: nfts, defi and daos. and then in each one you probably have hundreds of sub-categories.
because everything is so exciting, people tend to try and learn everything they can from each category. i'm not saying it's necessarily bad, but the more you spread yourself thin, the less knowledgeable you will be in one particular category.
that's the difference between saying only gm in 100 different discords vs spending 1-2 hours a day in 2-3 discord or being 10h/week in 4 daos vs 40h/week in 1 dao.
it's good to see what you like at the beginning, so spraying your time into multiple different places is a good idea. but once you've found the places that you really like, try to consolidate and really focus on those few ones. you'll get to know the people more and have a way bigger impact in the few places you contribute to.
