Turning 30
I'm soon going to complete my 30th lap around the Sun. I'm not sure what life expectancy is these days, but it's fair to assume that I'm half way through life. The years ahead me will be very different from the ones of the past. I'll probably have more resources but less energy. It's like the part of the movie post the intermission, where, if it's a good movie, you're anxious about how and when it will end. You already know the run time, but yet, there's this weird feeling that it's going to come to an end.
Knowing all this lies ahead of me, what should I do? I'm not the first and surely not the last person to feel this, and just like me, there are millions who are turning 30 this year. So, I'm thinking about starting a podcast (of course) where I speak to people in their 40s and 50s about how they lived their 30s and what things they would have done differently. The goal is simple - learn something from people who have been there and had the time to reflect on it.
While doing Reuben's Podcast, I realised that there was so much wisdom and advice in simple conversations, which people in their 20s could use. It was powerful because each piece of advice wasn't based on theory, but a lived experience and it was common across many people.
I was apprehensive to start another podcast and debated whether it should be Season 2 or a new podcast all together - and while I don't have definitive answers to any of those questions, I am looking forward to doing this. I already have a few guests in mind but curious to know who all I'll end up speaking with.
