The AI Cycle and Moore's Law
Apple is about to have their own on-devices AI that will improve UX. I believe this will be another inflation point for Smartphone cycles. A lot of function no longer requires sending over to the server, things such as Voice Message from any Apps such as Whatsapp to Telegram being transcribed into Text on Devices. Giving Context of news or picture and assistants etc. This will be enough to push the Smartphone Cycle for another 10 years. Starting with iPhone 16, if Apple dare to call it their first iPhone with AI or LLM ( They tend to avoid the word AI and be a little more specific ) built in. The smartphone world in the next 10 years will be divided into with or without AI capability. Since AI requires larger size of NPU, this gives Apple the advantage because they built their own SoC and larger die size has relatively little effect on them. It will only cost them an extra few dollars.
This also means it will fuel the growth, or at least stop the falling sales of smartphone market. Along with Nvidia on GPU for Training, what I thought was an economic roadblock with 3nm ( now pushed to 2nm with GAA ) could be extend for at least another 3 cycles. That is 1.4nm, 1nm and 0.8nm. All the way to ~2032.
