On not repeating mistakes
In one of the online communities I'm part of, I once saw on a guy's bio that he wrote:
"Passionate about not making a mistake twice. Only new mistakes."
I thought it was funny at first. It was like "yeah, that sounds cool".
But then my mind thought it was interesting enough to save that memory long-term.
And it's mostly because it made me thought later the depth of its meaning.
Like it's one of those concepts that you have no problem agreeing with the first time.
But when you start peeling off the layers... Boy, what a hard realization.
Can you even imagine what would it be to make mistakes only once?
How far would you be?
Would you look at others and be like "ohhh mere mortals that are still stuck with the same usual".
Or you would be so busy crushing it and charging down your path that you wouldn't have time to think about it.
For me personally, there are some mistakes that are like the bane of my existence.
They show up in different ways, disguised as a different situation, and I end up falling into the trap yet again.
I even make mistakes trying to avoid other mistakes...
Even with a different mindset than the traditional one. The one in which you think that making mistakes is "wrong" and should be "avoided".
And also, learning from the mistakes of others to not make them yourself. Which, technically, doesn't count because they weren't your mistakes.
But still...
In any case, if we all were as passionate as that guy in the community about only making new mistakes. Think of how much far ahead we would be.
Thank you, random guy who I forgot about for the lesson in your bio.
