flight
the bird left its nest
the feather of it's right wings were ready to soar but the muscles gave up within a minute
her childhood injury had a left it's scar - invisible but all the more threatening to its dreams
during her first fall - she cushioned her face with her wings
the embarrassment hurt more than the brittleness of the unforgiving ground
she knew she couldn't be down here - it was a deathbed for a tiny organism like her
we are born with fear and all of life is just an act of fighting every fear our DNA was wrapped around
the weak muscles assured her that they would try their best
she had faith in them
after all, who do you believe in when you're standing at the edge?
the seduction of light makes the shadows seem evil but it's in the shadows that you can truly see yourself
it is the absence of colors that reveal what the world is truly made of
she took another flight, this time the bruised muscles didn't fail her - she reached a branch where a purple flower was just learning to open it's arms to the fireflies.
her left wing was on fire. the ache was unlike anything she had ever felt.
you must let the fire burn, for it is where fear dies
you must let the ache test you, for it is how it turns into courage
the muscles promised a longer flight (they were lying)
she could sense a prey looming
when death arrives - it renders all colors colorless
the desire isn't to live a bit more, it's to be free of the thought of what could have been
fear has a sister, hope.
the wings flapped, the muscles wanted to see the sky
she's flying
