I wrote this in 5 minutes
I have spent an obnoxious amount of time asking myself, "what should I do with my life?"
Not because there is anything necessarily "to do" or because I have an inherently unsatisfying or distressing life. In fact, it's quite the opposite. I have a cushy, work-from-home, tech-adjacent, golden-handcuffs, kind of job. Me 2-3 years ago would be thrilled.
And yet almost daily I find myself jealous. Jealous of those people on Twitter (you know the type) who tweet those annoying-ass-threads-that-I-secretly-wish-I-could-do-myself. Telling me about all the things they're building or how easy it could be to build a 6-figure side hustle if you only optimized your mind, your time, your LinkedIn, your Twitter, your house, your habits, and all my other insecurities.
I'm jealous because I don't feel like I have the secret. I'm jealous because I don't know where to start. I'm jealous because I want to be rich and famous and have status and all the other worldly things. I'm jealous and I'm the only one suffering - here in my little corner of the internet.
I hope this space provides comfort mostly for me. I hope I simultaneously express my meaningless grievances and celebrate my little victories. I hope nobody reads this (but, who am I kidding, I hope my grandchild reads this in a few decades and thinks, 'so THAT'S where grandpa Gus started!'). We all have our dreams.
Until then, thank you to @louispereira for creating something so simple to use that I don't have any excuses. I've started and stopped about a dozen writing projects. Let's see how long this one lasts.
Also, I lied. This took me about 20 minutes to write. Procrastination is a bitch.
