Theherav (read it in hindi)
There is a word in Hindi called 'theherav.'
It comes from the Hindi word theherna(to stop), but theherav doesn't mean to stop. It means something related to a person's character that allows them to feel collected most of the time.
You know how many people make being clumsy their personality? A person with theherav doesn't have to make any personality claims.
It is usually visible to those around them and is often a trait that others draw from. You'll notice how people behave differently around such a person. They exude a sense of calmness that is rare.
There could be multiple reasons for their demeanor, but it holds sway.
We usually won't find them talking too much or fumbling when they're around a big group of people. It's enviable sometimes.
I wonder how they become so. What is it about the world that they grasp better than any of us? It is almost divine.
Quite often, I'm against idolizing any person, famous or otherwise, but a person with theherav I can't help but put on a pedestal. It is just the kind of reaction their presence commands.
It could've been a teacher, someone you dated, a colleague at work, or even a friend, but their conduct is markedly different.
Unique, not as quirky, but idiosyncratic. As you get to know the person more, you might find clues about what factors contribute to their personality. But it will likely increase the reverence you feel around them.
In my opinion, the two factors contributing to theherav are honesty about oneself and a penchant for understanding people without judgments.
Most of us struggle with both or at least one of the factors. We are also often tangled within our own selves. Our mirror is usually foggy.
Do you know such a person?
