One degree to SUCCESS
I have always found myself constantly searching for that one thing that will turn my life around. That one solution that will solve all my problems and make everything better.
I remember times when I have lacked patience and have sought instant results.
For instance, when I started doing yoga, I wanted to do advanced poses in a matter of few days of practice. When I started preparing for my exams, I wanted to ace them overnight.
But I've learned the hard way that real progress takes time and sustained effort.
Recently, in my quest to find motivation, I stumbled upon an analogy that has helped me realize that results follow an exponential growth curve (also known as the Paradox of Growth) -
At 99 degrees, water is just hot water. But at 100 degrees, it turns into something entirely different - steam - something that has the power to move mountains.
This has reminded me that things can keep building inside us, but only come to the surface after sustained effort.
Of course, progress may not always be linear, and setbacks are normal.
But I'm confident that if I keep putting in that extra degree of effort and consistency, it will lead to significant progress over time.
Here are a few habits that have helped me along the way -
By reminding myself that success is a journey, I focus on the progress I've made rather than how far I have left to go
Being more open to failure and not giving up
Avoiding the temptation of seeking instant gratification and validation
The below picture helps me stay motivated on this journey, I hope it can provide you some inspiration too!
