rage rage against the dying of the light
our existence is very bland and senseless, battling against the corrosive force of time. the dying of the light. it's very much like ingredients, which in and of themself do not make much sense. left to itself, it will decay without discrimination and we only have just enough time as everybody else to make any sense out of it. luckily, for those not trodden by brutal social injustices, there's enough to create meaning out of the mundane. human connection being the most premiere, befriended a stranger and slowly becoming a part of each other's composite and complex lives. think of one of your best friends, think a complete stranger - they could have been on each others place just as equally as they are on their places right now. friends are by chances.
love, being the most powerful within human connection, the romantic kind of love - and then heartbreak, a natural conclusion of love, most of the time.
i think the phrase "rage rage against the dying of the light" is both hopeful and despairing. at once you are made to realize the tiny insignificance of your actions and efforts to do anything. to live grand, to love, to create, to build, to preserve and everything. on the other hand, it is encouraging of us to expand our human footprint across lives in the most memorable ways. touch a life, move a tear, give some hope, ally some fear, do you what you may - rage rage against the dying of the light.
