What are your non-monetized hobbies?
Non-monetized. Is that even a term?
I was recently creating a page on my Notion called "leisure + fun". It basically has 1 database with all my hobbies and leisure activities.
But I soon realized that there's only one hobby or leisure activity that I regularly enjoy doing and haven't monetized.
That's reading books.
I'm not sure if I can monetize but I have seen people reading and reviewing books in exchange for money or free books.
So, it can be monetized.
The question is, will I? Should I? Why should I?
Another important question is, why don't I have hobbies that I purely do for the pleasure of doing them and not to eventually monetize them?
I started blogging in 2010 because I love expressing my thoughts through words.
Now, I write blogs for clients.
I started a curated newsletter because I love going down rabbit holes and sharing interesting links with my friends.
Now, I'm partially motivated to curate the newsletter because I get sponsorship revenue.
I started learning no-code because I love tinkering with new tools.
Last year, I deployed a no-code website fully built on a no-code platform for money.
All my "hobbies" or "leisure activities" have turned into potential income streams.
If money isn't the problem, would I still be working on these "hobbies" purely out of pleasure?
Should hobbies have an end goal?
What are your non-monetized hobbies?
Can you come up with at least 3 such hobbies?
Do you pursue these hobbies?
If you don't, why?
