Your Journal is Your Best Friend or Better. Part 1
You need someone you can tell everything.
I share with my friends. They know a lot about me, but they don’t know everything.
You can tell your journal everything.
This essay and the next are examples of how I use my journals as a best friend.
You may be surprised when your journal gives you an answer.
I often clear my mind, problem-solve and decide how to approach the day by writing in my journal.
Yesterday I wasn’t feeling 100%. This is what I wrote in my journal:
I woke up with a slight headache (the weather has changed). I have so much I could do today. I really just want to feel better.
Last night’s rain stopped. It’s cool and clear now. Even on days I’m feeling sub-par, my routine helps me get into a flow. It makes the day seem more hopeful.
I need to eat and go walk while I’m thinking about it. I can go the long flat route first. Then I’ll see how I feel about five hills.
Writing those words in my journal convinced me to take a walk I almost put off. I knew I needed to take a walk. I needed some convincing.
Writing in a journal is like talking to a friend - a wiser friend.
