How to Fit Your Daily Journaling into Your Packed Weekend
A serious daily journaler may have an extensive journaling routine.
Three morning pages? They take 30 minutes or more, depending on writing/typing speed.
A multiple-component journaling routine? My routine takes 20 to 45 minutes consisting of the following: gratitude, intent for the day, sometimes I need an affirmation (or two), and then there are 20 to 30 minutes of free journaling. Wait! I'm not done. I end with reading a page or two and writing a response.
What happens when you have a packed day, big plans for the weekend, or you’re sick?
Everyone has a day or more when the daily journaling routine is the last thing on their mind.
If you are dedicated to journaling daily, how do you fit it in?
This weekend, my son and daughter-in-law are attending an out-of-town wedding. Guess who’s watching my two adorable granddaughters. Me!
At ages six and two, time for my entire journaling routine is unlikely.
Here’s my plan for when the journaling time is not there.
Write one or two sentences you consider the most essential part of your routine.
A few sentences about what keeps you from your routine is enough.
An affirmation might work for you.
Or, if you are like me, gratitude is a priority.
That’s it. You've journaled for the day.
A daily journaling habit doesn't need to be a big time commitment.
Make journaling fit you and your circumstances.
