Writing for yourself
Nowadays, I find myself overthinking what I write because so many eyes are observing. Judgment and fear arise, and I end up not posting at all. Writing for myself has become a liberating experience—I can pour all my thoughts into a post and then continue with my day, feeling relieved and lighter. This hesitation extends not only to my thoughts but also to the pictures I want to post. My main purpose for posting on social media is not sharing, but archiving—creating an album so that one day I can look back. The same goes for my thoughts: a collection of ideas, reflections, and feelings that form a timeline of my growth and learnings over the years.
So, why not write for yourself? Why not post for yourself? There are so many benefits to this approach. It can serve as a form of self-expression and therapy. The judgments of others will be forgotten; no one really cares in the long run.
I hope that by using platforms like Nicheless, where anonymity allows me to post without the fear of recognition or judgment, I can build the confidence to do the same on my main social media accounts. Social media should be a tool for personal enrichment, not a source of anxiety. By shifting the focus from external validation to self-expression and documentation, we can reclaim the joy of sharing our lives in a meaningful way.
