Why I built this
I'm a firm believer in the following 3 sentences:
Writing is thinking.
Writing online forces you to write better.
Therefore, writing online makes you a better thinker.
Lately, writing online has become more social, and as a consequence – more competitive. Likes, comments, and subscriber counts are the metrics that success is measured by. The easiest way to boost these metrics? Publish regularly within a niche.
But you're a human with varied interests, not a publication with a singular focus. Sometimes, you want to write about topics outside your niche. To write, if only for thinking's sake.
I know the feeling.
371 days ago, I started a personal Substack to share my nicheless thoughts.
In the year since, I've published only 3 pieces, and ended up with a graveyard of drafts. Thoughts abandoned in their infancy because I was afraid to publish into a publicly visible void.
So I stopped trying.
I went back to the comfort of writing in private.
Writing in private is easy. Fun, even. But useful? Not really. It lets me get away with sloppy thinking, because I know nobody's watching. And that's not ideal.
So I'm back to square one. Back to writing in public. Back to wrestling random thoughts for clarity.
This time – I've built a new arena.
Think of this tool as the love-child of your private journal and public newsletter. A place for half-baked insights you want your mind to marinate in. A home for your nicheless thoughts.
An arena for unconstrained expression, within a format that is characterised by its constraints.

I hope you'll use it to write in public, if only for thinking's sake.
