Nicheless' moat
Everyone is talking about moats being dead.
If technology is easy to build, everyone can build it. I don't know what my opinion is. I feel like I don't have time to think about it. Or maybe I don't really care, because building products online feels like play to me, not a job.
For Nicheless, perhaps if it had a network effect it would have a moat. But do I care? I'm not sure. I make no money by running Nicheless. It's a free tool. I just really, really, really love it as a platform. I love that I get to build something like this. Something that I truly believe should exist. Something that I built for myself 4 years ago, and rebuilt for myself this past month.
Every time I use it, I realize why I built it. And it makes me grateful that I built it. And grateful that technology exists that lets me build a product like this.
I love seeing other people use it too. Perhaps some day I will figure out a way to make money from it (because having more money is always nice). For now, it just pays me in happiness whenever I use it, and see others using it.
