Time and stuff
Doomscrolling is a lot like venture capital.
You spend countless hours on it, most return nothing.
But once in a while, a single post returns the entire fund.
Last night, I hit one of those rare jackpots. It was a painfully obvious observation made by a writer I had never heard of.
Three dots, sitting in plain sight for years. They connected them. Reading it made me feel enlightened, but also stupid for not having connected the dots myself.
It was about time.
Here's the short version:
We spend time to earn money.
Then, we spend money to buy stuff.
So if we buy stuff that we don't use much, we're wasting money. In other words, we're wasting time.
And that is a silly way to live.
