thinking out loud about my books
i'm getting in a cycle of
- being afraid of running out of books that i'll consider a "favorite" book or a "five-star read"
- frantically searching for books while i'm still reading
- constantly reading like 4 books at the same time because i don't want my library loan to run out even tho i could easily renew a loan
- not getting around to "pets, an anthology" because i am "saving it for when i am truly out of books"
- but really wanting to read pets
what should i do?
um i think FIRST OF ALL just don't be afraid to renew loans, like the 14-21 days are just the MINIMUM i get, not the maximum
SECOND, live beyond fear. instead of thinking about "running out", i should be thinking, "what am i genuinely interested in reading RIGHT NOW?"
i am reading 2 plaths and 1 tao lin and i want to read "the argonauts" as well as "pets, an anthology" and i have mike kleine on the way.
ok i think i have to just kind of focus on:
tao lin's "shoplifting from american apparel" (that's my "night" book) &
plath's "ariel" and "diary" (my "day" books)
