Sudden death.

Death is a known factor that disrupts all projections. The only problem is we don't know where it fits in the timelines of our lives.

Today a friend left the office early. I joked to call out his half day. He smiled, winked and said he's just tired.

He promised he'll pick the rest up tomorrow.

He will never come back to the office again.

I am afraid to think about his parents. I'm terrified to think about his wife.

Death is sudden. Its a full-stop.

Guilt wrecks me for asking him to work a little later on those nights, a little harder on those weekends, for calling him on those date nights, for all those escalations...

To whoever reads this... this society is collectively heading towards the end of the cliff, driven by capitalism and fear.

Take a break. Get off the car. Live and let others live.

Else you will one day be responsible for the sudden death of some fellow human being.
