RPWF Week 1
Question 1: What unactivated dream are you holding onto today from those before you?
My name was given to me by my great-grandmother. I was an infant when she held me in her arms for the first and last time, somewhere near the coast of Nigeria. From what my parents told me about the interaction, she looked at me and said that she saw the stars in my eyes. She spoke about how she sought out lessons from them when she looked up at the sky, and that their cosmic wisdom guided her through life. Donned with this name, Irawo, I hold with me a desire to remain grounded and seek knowledge from the ecological and celestial.
Question 2: What kinds of futurities are you bringing with you as you step through the portal?
Systems and ways of being that interrogate normalcy and embrace a multiplicity of experiences and values. I want to bring with me a curiosity and questioning about what could be and a desire to collaboratively tend to each other. Something softer, slower, and embodied. A world where our technologies are not guided with values of efficiency, optimization, or financial gain, but care, access, and liberation.
