philosophy of drugs
why is cocaine illegal but instagram legal?
is it because cocaine is made by latin americans but instagram was made by a white man with an east asian wife?
it's not that there is anything wrong with instagram per se, but people are base and they don't know what's good for them so they use it in ways that give power to the darkest most unhealthy parts of themselves (greed, insecurity, mimetic desire)
then again, if you use cocaine correctly (for example as medicine against altitude sickness) in the right dosage, maybe it is also not so bad.
but who uses it like that?
a person with iron steel discipline?
nah. i don't think i have iron steel discipline but i'm not dragged down by instagram. i don't even think i have iron steel principles or else i would be vegan but...
i think it has something to do with prioritizing one's happiness and regarding certain activities as "beneath" oneself.
i control our instagram account (which is on seb's phone) when i feel like posting something fun but i don't look at other people's stuff.
i feel like most people look at other people's stuff and feel envious but i just feel sad for them. i'm kinda like "aww you think that's worthy of bragging huh?" (not everyone is trying to brag and you can certainly feel the difference but sometimes people present something that is a clear attempt at flaunting) and i just feel sorry for them
