nuclear reaction
Today I went to pick up my parents from the airport. First, the parking ticket didn’t go through, and the car behind me started honking. My dad went and shouted at them. Then, I took the wrong road, and we ended up in a bad area of the city. My dad was furious. Every word that came out of his mouth was loud, aggressive, and negative. He was agitated and sweating, and my mom and I were also on edge because of him.
It's crazy how one person's reaction can affect others and alter their mood. This time, I tried to be understanding because I knew my dad was nervous, so I stayed calm and quiet. But I couldn’t help tearing up a bit—I was scared, scared of the yelling.
How we respond to a situation matters. Our reactions can influence the people around us. If we stay calm, others will likely stay calm. If we get agitated, others will likely get agitated too. It’s a chain reaction.
