Nicheless: The Direction
Somewhat comically, Nicheless has found a couple of niches of its own.
(1) Content creators who use it to publish content outside their niche.
(2) Other creative people who use it as a low pressure environment to publish their thoughts.
Besides copious amounts of gratitude towards early adopters, my mind is filled with questions. Mainly – what now?
Do I want this to become a personal newsletter platform? Do I want it to be like long-form Twitter minus the publicly displayed social capital (followers, likes, comments)? Is this just a writing tool? Should it become a 'tool for thought'? Is there a network effect waiting to be kindled?
I have an itch to innovate, but I'm aware of the power of simplicity. And I don't want Nicheless to be infected by featuritis.
After some conversations, thinking (writing), and tons of deleted paragraphs thanks to the word limit, I've found a direction that feels right.
At its core, Nicheless is a tool for writers. And I want it to stay that way.
It will remain a light, low pressure environment for you to share your thoughts without the fear of being judged. A place where you can explore your curiosity and creativity while steering clear of status games.
Any updates to the platform will have to pass through that filter.
I don't know how I'll monetize it just yet, but I have a few ideas that I'll save for another post.
It's still early days, and I'll keep iterating based on how things pan out. For now, this is a direction that feels right.
If you've been using the platform to write, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
