I have a car
So it's my turn of having a car that will remain mostly unused in the parking lot of my building, as I work from home.
Never thought I would ever have a car, because I don't need one, but the hard winter of Canada, the long waiting time for public transportation in the cold, and the hassle that is now using the car sharing company after the system exploded in popularity during the pandemic made me take the anti-eco, selfish decision.
I'm felling guilty at first, as I am a proud biker. I bought the vehicle with the money I got for extra-work I did during the pandemic, as I had nothing to do at home and then decided to have some consulting jobs for a recruiting agency.
It's the cheapest Kia model, a hatchback, 7 years-old, charcoal, just one owner before me, never had an accident. There's obvious signs of usage all over, but the mechanical part seems ok when I checked it during the test drive. Now I have to pay, perpetually, the insurance, the gas, parking, etc.
And no more reading on the metro.
Hope I will drive my friends home after our meetings. It will help me feeling better by sharing it.
