i think sheila heti is actually somewhat mainstream despite being indie in style but tao lin is still fully indie despite being published in Vice just because like
i think sheila heti is spreading a mainstream message [in a groundbreaking way]
but tao lin is spreading a somewhat indie message ["somewhat" meaning a little bit hippie; but he is always evolving...] with uninhibited means
his mandalas are very very good and i'm almost jealous that i didn't come up with them but not as jealous as i am of erika lee sears but i think i would like to do an varied iteration on her style because -- like books -- there is something that she inspired in me which then also left a hole of near-satisfaction and i'd like to fill that hole myself if no one else is going to do it
i think it kind of offended me to hear sheila heti placed in the same category as ottessa moshfegh and emily st. john mandel and kate elizabeth russell tbh -- sheila is a literary goddess and tao lin is a literary god and megan boyle is a literary demigoddess and would be a full goddess if she were just more prolific
jordan castro is like david of david and goliath co. or icarus or some type of heroic (possibly greek tragedy heroic) figure -- jordan castro needs to publish more stuff as well to become inaugurated as a god
mike kleine is a genius sprite kind of like peter pan but more mischievous and more lawless and not to be reckoned with
