Goodbyes are hard
After already having several goodbye parties in Chile from friends and family that think I'm not coming back, today I say goodbye to the end of my gap semester to return to Chile. It's also a goodbye to my long distance relationship partner once again (for like the 7th time) by now I should be a pro at this. But, every time, I tell myself it will get easier, that practice makes perfect. But the truth is, the more you get to know someone, the more you connect, the more you get attached. For me, these kinds of goodbyes have only gotten harder. While my reactions might have improved slightly, the emotions run deeper and stronger.
Goodbyes are a bittersweet mix of joy and sadness. We look back on the good experiences with gratitude, wishing to continue the routines that once felt unfamiliar but slowly became the norm—waking up together, cuddling, having breakfast together, do things together. On the other hand, there's the uncertainty and sadness of leaving someone who makes you happy. The sudden change leaves a hole for a few days.
Missing someone sucks, but it also brings excitement for the next time you see them and the new adventures you'll have together. Plus, it gives us time to grow individually so that when we're together again, we're even better versions of ourselves.
still the last hug is always the hardest...
(Im sorry but Im rushing this because I gotta board the plane, okeyyy byeeeee)
