Email Disasters
Every day we would be receiving hundreds of emails and we would be responding back to them as a part of our work or in our personal capacity. But, we always make a few mistakes which do not look wrong but are more like disasters. Let's look at a few of them:
We send Or receive emails with an URGENT written in caps and bold. Never understood that by writing urgent, how would this create an importance to receiver, rather mark the mail with high importance. You are not dousing a fire here that you write URGENT and the problem is solved instantly or urgently.
We would be marking around four or five people in To and addressing the mail to one person. Remember people give importance to mails where they are marked in the to and addressed also, simply marking multiple emails creates a lot of confusion.
Always reply with salutations no matter who you are and whom you are replying to. 99.9% of emails would have just been replied like a one line answer not sure to whom it is being addressed to.
If the subject line of the email is different from the body of the email, then please change it to suit the context of email and stop the chain immediately.
Many such ones we do daily. Time to ensure the email etiquette is followed.
