cute boys from 1860s-70s
i'm reading carl jung's memoir and his descriptions of himself as a little boy (born 1875) makes me think of Pip, who started out as 7 in Great Expectations (set in 1812 but published in 1860)
i absolutely loved Pip even though i overall did not enjoy Great Expectations. Pip was so cute in the beginning and then turned evil
but anyway i wonder if there is something about the 1860s-1870s that churned out little boys like that
just absolutely adorable, quirky, pitiful little boys who did poverty things like playing with bricks and using their imaginations
yeah, probably.
i feel like now we all have access to the same 100 books, the same 100 TV shows/movies, the same 10 websites and we all do the same things and are not unique or special and we have so much abundant entertainment that we really do not have to think at all
maybe i will go on an entertainment fast
no music. no books!!! no TV (obviously)
no phone. no computer.
