Consider 3 Factors When Cleaning Out Your Clutter of Possibilities
Having a clutter of possibilities is a burden.
What once was hopeful, is now just stuff to wade through when looking for what you want. Items and ideas lying around waiting for the right circumstances to be used keep you from seeing what to use now.
With less, opportunities are more likely to become actions.
If you are ready to clear your clutter of possibilities, consider these factors.
1.Timeline. How long has the item or idea gone unused?
Shirts you haven’t worn for years. Ideas you recorded months ago. There’s a reason you haven’t taken action. Fit, appeal, interest. If those no longer apply, clear it out.
2.Emotion. How do you feel about the item or idea now?
When you bought or received that trinket, you loved it. It no longer makes you feel that way. That great idea for an essay doesn’t excite you like it first did. Clear them out.
3.Quantity. How did you collect so many?
Everyone has a tendency to try a different brand or style of their favorite item. My weakness is writing utensils. I buy more pens and pencils than I use up. All are great possibilities. I can’t possibly use them all. This is when you need to choose your favorites and gift away the others.
The clutter of possibilities is a burden, keeping you from enjoying what you will take action on.
With the clutter gone, you will appreciate and take that action. Wear it, use it, write about it.
