Co-working space- where dreams become a reality
I would have never discovered wonders of a co-working space, had I not started on my own. The hunt for my own office space made me look for options beyond traditional spaces. The real estate in Mumbai is so expensive that anyone with limited finance has no choice but to be imaginative.
The pictures of spaces, within my budget, that my hard working broker shared made my thoughts race from ‘maybe I should sell my kidney’ to ‘let me see if I can get my old job back’. I realized I would have to dig substantially into by savings to be able to afford a decent office, unless I had clients ready to foot the bill, which was of course ideal but improbable at that time.
So with a lot of pessimism in my heart, I decided to check out a co-working space when a friend recommended. And what a blessing it was. In no time I found my space and all I had to do was move in just with my laptop. Everything else starting from decent furniture to wifi are taken care of.
To top it, the spaces are very different from law firm offices. The law firm offices have certain seriousness to them which co-working spaces lack. They are trendy and woke. It suits my rebellious heart. Can any one in a law firm imagine seeing a dog run around in office?! I saw a beautiful golden Labrador more than once prancing around. I bet that dog is going to around for sometime.
I do still dig a bit into my savings (nothing comes cheap in Mumbai), but at least my heart is firmly placed in what I am now doing. The dreams look possible.
