Because I want to
Sometimes I get a rush of motivation for studying, even if it’s a subject I don't necessarily like. I enjoy the process and the feeling of learning. However, when I start to feel the weight of others’ expectations about my performance or results, that spark of motivation quickly fades. It’s strange because many people would react differently—they would feel driven to prove others wrong. Why am I the opposite?
Yesterday I got asked about my final exam and the first reaction I got was "JUST FINISH IT" (it's not the first time I've heard this, from the top of my head I can count 10 people already), people tend to say "You need to do it" or "YOU NEED TO FINISH IT" even though I never asked for their advice or I NEVER said I'm not gonna do it, I don't know why this affects me so much, but makes me just not want to do it. I just want to finish my exam because I want to, at my pace and accomplish this on my own merit.
why is that peoples first reaction? and what's wrong with me? why can't I just ignore them?
I struggle to balance or separate my care for the people in my inner circle with the weight of their opinions and words. It's something I have to work on.
