A framework for creating valuable products
My short journey as a builder has given me some experience in creating value for people.
Per my current understanding, there are 4 ways to do this:
- Make the previously impossible possible
- Make what is currently possible easier
- Reduce the likelihood of a negative event
- Increase the likelihood of a positive event
A few examples:
- Make the previously impossible possible
- Netflix: Watch movies on demand at home
- Twitter: Get real time news directly from the source
- Make what is currently possible easier
- Typefully: Create Twitter threads easily
- Read Something Great: Discover timeless articles easily
- Reduce the likelihood of a negative event
- Health insurance: Decrease the chances of going broke in the face of a medical emergency
- Password managers: Decrease the likelihood that you'll lose access to your accounts.
- Increase the likelihood of a positive event
- NFT Sniper: Increase the chances that you'll be able to buy NFTs at a steal
- EightSleep: Increase the likelihood of a restful sleep
This isn't a watertight list – each product usually impacts more than one metric. The best products impact all 4.
With Nicheless, I'm trying to do (2), (3) and (4).
Here's how:
Make what is currently possible easier
Nicheless is the easiest way to set up a blog and start writing in minutes.Reduce the likelihood of a negative event
With no publicly visible metrics (likes, replies, followers), Nicheless removes the fear of being judged and trolled while publishing online.Increase the likelihood of a positive event
By publishing your thoughts on Nicheless, you're sending a signal out into the world, and keeping yourself open to serendipitous connections in the future.
If you're a writer here, let me know if it's working?
