Underlying fears of not being successful
You know what you want to do. But there are certain fears that creep up every time you think of it.
- What if I do a bad job and actually ruin it.
- What if it projects me in a different way than I imagine.
- How often will the backlash be.
These are all the negative impacts that you think but the fears come dressed in a good way as well -
- It lets you think of all the good things that will happen once people start noticing.
- It lets you view the success of others and make you hate yourself.
- It lets you believe after showing all the glamour that you aren't the person who will succeed.
Now, the first case is understandable and there are ways to overcome it with external factors and a little internal changes. The second case needs a lot of your internal factors to be changed than external.
You need your constant encouragement and willingness even when the times aren't in your favor.
Why do I write this?
I write this because, I was the guy in the second case in terms of my writing. I used to imagine a lot of things and never got anything done. It is after 10 months or so, I found a workshop by David Perell, that sends an email discussing one topic about writing and I started sharing my thoughts in it.
Now, I agree I have the first case of fear where I feel I am not good enough, but those are external fears of mine and I will looks for ways to be better. The second case requires you to change yourself to be better.
I hope I made sense.
