writing raw
Today marks day 50 of my daily writing challenge on Nicheless.
Writing daily is starting to become a habit and I find myself consciously reflecting on my experiences more often. I like it. I feel it really helps me to have more clarity in my mind.
So I am definitely going to continue with this challenge. However, I want to change things up a little. So far, I've often been using AI tools to find formulations and polish my writing based the input I gave.
From now on, I want to write more raw.
There is a fantastic little essay by Jakob Greenfeld about this (https://jakobgreenfeld.com/raw):
"My process is as simple as it gets: I sit down, I write, I write, I write, and only get up when I’m finished. I wrestle with an idea an just follow my thoughts as they take me up and down the page. There’s no planning, no notes, no draft, or editing. I’m just getting words out of my head onto the screen.
[...]
Every time a text is edited, edges get smoothened out. But it’s precisely these edges that make a text interesting.
[...]
I’m doing it to get thoughts out of my system to make room for new ideas. So I don’t care about the outcome, if anyone will ever read or like it. My only focus is on the process itself."
This is what I am going to do from now on. Caring less about the outcome and more about the process of writing.
There are so many thoughts, observations, and insights in my head. Looking forward to get them out there in a raw, unfiltered way.
