Why Synapse Candy?
I came across nicheless from a wonderful newsletter I am subscribed to called 'Read Something Great'.
The newsletter, hosted on Substack, sends me a 'long read' (blogs/articles that are longform essays taking more than 10 minutes to read) and a 'short read'.
Nicheless was mentioned on a 'short read' newsletter from last week (I caught up late to my reading, don't judge!)
Anywho, I clicked the link and it felt instantly like something right up my alley.
It has a very clear purpose (write) and limitation (write only 300 words)
It is possibly an unfortunate work habit I picked up, where I prefer working within defined parameters to ensure that I know what I am working towards.
I tried and failed so many times to start a blog because most of the time I felt like I had either too much to say, or too little.
So, I am glad I stumbled here.
Now, to the matter at hand-I am called Synapse Candy because I recently learned that Neurons that make up our brain communicate with each other through electrical charges called 'synapses'(it happens in the space between the dendritic spines of one neuron and the bouton (axon) of another neuron)
It is an oversimplification, yes, however, the point being, I want this space to be an electrically synaptic candy land.
Too much? Well, tough. I think electricity and candy would be a great combination. Proof? Does anyone remember the pop rocks candy we loved as kids?
Candy that sizzled and popped like harmless electricity in our mouth?
Ahh, fun times. Well, I hope to offer more synaptic candy here. Hope that my neurotic sparks reach you and amplify and become a butterfly effect of pop rocked thought that will possibly explain time.
Until then.
