Time - a watched pot
Today morning I awoke with the dial of time cinched around my waist.
As I folded my sheets, made my bed, brushed my teeth, I felt the seconds tick around me and subsequently my throat closed up.
Not a good thing to happen, especially, when your mouth is full of toothpaste and a brush.
Very absurdly I felt like 15 years of my life passed me by in a deja vu of sheet folding, bed making and teeth brushing.
Try as I might, today morning I felt like my entire human life had nothing to account for but these three repetitive actions.
Watching the clouds drift at a speed I could not decipher I felt simultaneously paralysed and driven, to do.
Do what? I hadn't figure out yet. Just that it wasn't folding sheets or making my bed or brushing my teeth.
Ruminating over that thought, as I hadn't blinked for too long, I started seeing micro organisms from a petri dish cloud my vision in sparkles and I blinked rapidly for relief.
Like a butterfly flapping its wings, in a blink it came to me.
One action it could be.
One thing I do, in one of those seconds that tick, could be the one that defines it all.
One action that I take in total abandon and knowledge that time is a watched pot that will boil, could define my days for me.
Today it is this. This thought piece that I wrote as I spend my days in a world where time for me is linear, one second per second and moves only forward.
Where time is mostly repetitive, deja vu actions, that I intend to fill with one second of utter madness just so I can convince myself that the time I perceive is real.
