We Know What Is Good
We're following the leader wherever he may go.
Aren't we familiar with the famous song from Peter Pan where the kids follow whoever is first with reckless abandon?
We had no issue playing this version of Simon Says when we were younger.
And yet, why do we make being a follower of Christ so hard?
We overcomplicate following Him.
Our unwillingness to fully commit turns into an everlasting battle of tug of war.
The Christian Speed Readers vs God's Word.
We look at the books of the Bible that make up the Law and turn our noses up at the idea of keeping the many laws in Deuteronomy.
Ironically, these laws were written before Jesus was on Earth.
Christian is what it’s called for a reason, and that's to follow the example of Christ, not strictly the laws.
God gave us those laws to make a point that we can’t possibly keep every rule, because keeping every rule certainly will not save us.
The only way we can be saved is by accepting and following Jesus.
God makes it very clear what he wants from us and it's a very small list that I'd argue most are doing 2/3rds of.
The 10 commandments, do what’s right to others, be kind, live humbly, and trust in God.
I’d argue most of us are doing this on a daily basis.
Let’s just be conscious of doing them for Jesus.
The Lord has told us what is good. He has told you what he wants from you. Do what is right to other people. Love being kind to others, and live humbly, trusting your God -Micah 6:8
