trying post.news in beta
I got early access to Post.News last night. The platform is still in infancy like this platform. Because there is an "everyone" feed by default, the product concept of finding/sharing critical news and supporting quality journalism or creators is falling thru the cracks. But, it is supposed to be a social platform at its core.
What i've seen so far. Users, know the drill: introduce themselves, share a range of personal information, cross post content that has a high probability to get a reaction (which typically is pet pictures or a shitty meme).
Post's beta feed is chaotic. I imagine as the product evolves we will figure out the "styles" of posts that are acceptable (whether the platform starts to curate content better or the community begins to respond to certain types of post). I recommend that product owners prioritize features related to the comment section. Discourse happens in the comments. I think Reddit does a decent job of visualizing comments; TikTok community really shines in the comment section; and, LinkedIn (FB, too, I guess)'s multi-emoji reaction allows users to provide context when they acknowledge someones post or comment - i say acknowledge becasue not every comment needs a response, (choose your battles..)
