September 16th - My life should be a movie (4/n)
Pari, you have an issue:
- You assume for yourself where other people's boundaries lie, and tend to not believe them when they say where it is
- In your intense need to people please and avoid conflict, you automatically regulate your own emotions and actions as per where you think their boundaries lie.
This is wrong because of 2 key reasons:
- You need to treat others as adults, and let them take responsibility for their words and set boundaries. If someone has lied to you about what they're okay with and magically expected you to understand, that's bullshit on their part. Lesson to learn: don't you dare expect others to magically understand you as well
- While action regulation happens automatically without thinking for you, it drains the total shit out of you. That is unfair to the other party. If they did not ask you to do it, and almost begged you not to do it, then don't do it! It's hard, because it's an instinctive reaction, but you owe it to the people in your life to relearn this aspect.
