say yes more
I'm a big fan of Yes Theory and their open, serendipitous approach to life.
And I try to take them as an example, to seek more discomfort myself, to say yes, to approach strangers, and to face new situations openly and curiously.
That's easier said than done, and it's still not easy for me. Too often, my comfort zone wants to keep me stuck, just don't be brave, just don't take any risks. But when I do get over it, it's worth it every time - those are the moments when I feel alive, when I grow and when I look back with a smile.
Yesterday I was at a hackathon with a team of five, we made it to the final and the question was who would deliver the pitch. Nobody really wanted to do it and at first I had the tendency to hold back and take the relaxed, unexciting route.
But I managed to get over myself, say yes to the opportunity and experience a personal highlight.
Getting out of my comfort zone still costs me effort - but the overall standard of comfort increases. The more often I say yes, the easier it gets, the bigger my comfort zone becomes. What would have been unthinkable and deeply uncomfortable for me in the past is no longer a problem for me today.
Each decision to engage rather than retreat adds a layer of confidence and experience. It's about choosing growth over safety, learning over stagnancy, and adventure over monotony. With every yes, I find myself not only surviving but thriving, crafting a moment that feels vibrant and deeply satisfying.
So, say yes more often and watch your world transform.
