One receives a phone call at 7.30 in the morning. An excited and almost tear jerked voice says they’ve hit water at 32 feet. The borewells in the region are at 780 feet. I can hear the joy in the voice with a slight surprise which is veiled by relief. The city coughs its dry spell in exploited ground waters and lack of good resource management.
