F You
Most of us work towards building a life you don't need to escape from. A free life. "F(ree) You".
There are few moments in life where your perspective to life alters completely. One such event was when my investments started to cover my monthly expenses and beyond. I managed to reach this point owing to many reasons, but that topic is for another time.
A quiet confidence started to develop. My daily practice of gratitude journaling grounded me. But I felt at ease. My regular journaling and reviews taught me that my health (physical & mental) and relationships (friends & family) are equally important inputs to this quiet confidence.
An upward trend across these areas over the past few years drives me to write this unfiltered note today. You get to approach life with positivity and wonder than with stress in the tank. I married the love of my life, started writing, built a non-profit with friends, and shifted jobs and cities - all with a new found mindfulness, gratitude, and excitement.
Saying F You:
I have an annual practice of reviewing my life across multiple parameters. I tell myself that I'm funny and creative.
So it is titled - "You're WORTH it":
- Work (professional & side gigs)
- Other (as applicable)
- Relationships (friends & family)
- Time (money, learning, experiences)
- Health (mental & physical)
It is a simple practice of quantitatively and qualitatively reviewing how the year went across these areas and setting any goals. It's WORTH it. Told you, I'm hilarious.
Take care of your health, maintain nourishing relationships, and invest with discipline and composure. Open up the time to learn and grow and experience life in each moment with gratitude and a sense of wonder.
Build a "F(ree) You" and know your WORTH.
