Don't start a Clothing Brand in India (for now)

I always joke that if you want to witness the extent of irrationality and an absolute disregard of common sense (up until a certain period) in the affairs of life and business then look at what indian people do.
one of the most smartest people also cannot help being a sucker.
my favorite example in 2024 are clothing brands.
Once something is shown to work in india the people here will squeeze the shit of that thing whatever it is. Now almost all cricketers, influencers, and bollywood actors/actresses have started a clothing brand. They misunderstand (or become blinded) what made the successful clothing brands successful. Even celebrities are not immune to being a sucker.

Many will succeed but a lot more will fail.

i can go on with examples lol. B-players raising 1M seed round coz they went to IIT.. Government job aspirants dropping preparations kyuki startup main paisa hain (i admire these midwits though)..and this is my favorite: women scanning bios to spot a Series D Founder.
