Cigar Box Guitar

Finally got around to this project after buying the cigar box at a thrift store a few months ago. All the rest of the parts I had around from other builds/mods. I’ve modded a few guitars now but I think I might be most proud of this one. It wasn’t a struggle the entire build, only took me 3 days in total, and best of all I didn’t have to paint it! Painting was a huge hassle on the last guitar I worked on.

There are a few things I want to rework on this guitar over time. For starters the neck is still a little chunky for my liking. I want to sand it down a bit and make it a thinner profile. Second is finding a way to counterweight the neck. Right now the body weighs next to nothing and the guitar nose dives if you let it go. The last idea I have is to put in a humbucker instead of a single coil pickup.

But for now I really am happy with how it turned out and how it sounds. It’s my new go to punk guitar. I can’t wait to make some music with it in the future.
