you and me both
she stood there
broken
because she heard
someone she held dear
telling another
a sacred confession
of public adoration
and she stood
and sobbed
unaware of it all
oblivious
the same sadness consumes me when i recall
that i don’t serve him dinners
or he doesn’t hold me through oaths
and i think to myself;
you & me both
