Thoughts on immigrants
I recently began working as an electrical apprentice under a Master Electrician. He's a Colombian immigrant with a work ethic that is simply staggering. He's up at 3:45 in the morning, goes to the gym, intermittent fasts, is at work by 7am, prays with his team and hits the road. He is calm, patient, neat and quiet and may be one of the kindest men I've met. His customers ADORE him. His whole family is involved in the business and I cannot help but feel a sense of pride to be working for him.
He came here at age 15 with basically nothing and built himself a successful electrical business through sheer hard work. (I'm hoping some of his work ethic rubs off on me.)
I have seen this same scenario play out multiple times. Immigrants come here and do very well while Americans born here can't seem to pull it together and spend their time complaining about how "things aren't fair" and that the "government is corrupt"
If America is so hard to live in then how does a person come over here with no grasp of the culture, no grasp of the English language and no access to government assistance and STILL SUCCEED? They started behind you and overtook you. There is no greater evidence that the average American is just lazy and entitled when they have the world at their fingertips.
I'm not writing this to start a fight, I'm writing this because your competition is pathetic. If an immigrant can come here and build a life by sheer work ethic, then ANYONE CAN. Don't get jealous, just work harder.
Earn your success by never taking your foot off the gas.
