The night sky
“I think you should dream the earth,
As it has a heart and breathes.”
— Davi Kopenawa, interview with F. Watson.
Pitch, but the dark did not impede the vision, the forest brought comfort and not fear, there were many tropical flowers with the most seductive tones, the cyan ones were light and moved slowly with the wind, different shades of red included the burgundy, passed through the light pink and reached the scarlet, brought with them a breath of protection, the wise diversity of greens: among low plants, ancient trees and mosses added to stones and small branches that had detached themselves in due time and spread over the ground, still there was no room for stumbling, nature had wisely left there a route, a path, she stood, watching the night sky, immense and so full of tiny but giant details, its blue was dark almost black, she admired each star, suddenlly a noise, almost a song, as if the wind was telling her something: There's still time!
She woke up.
She has always respected dreams, for the Yanomami dreams are not the unconscious desires of each one, are inhabiting other worlds, encountering other beings and, in these encounters, mobilizing for the desire of others, but what about her own desires? Recently her dreams were denser and even awake she heard words inside herself, words repeating themselves, sometimes with a musical cadence, others just loose, Is there still time? As if her mind was slowly creating tools, little puzzle pieces that wanted to fit together. Sometimes the excess of words seemed to accelerate in the mind, but little by little she understood that they were clues, small breaths of possibilities.
The sentence echoed again: There is still time!
