My liberation notes
I had no plans of watching this KDrama, but I like the lead actors and was curious about the plot. I am SO GLAD I started watching it. The premise is novel - centred around traveling to and fro work and how it wears one out. I am always awed by how Korean writers can think up such scenarios and plots and give us meaningful characters.
Anyway, the show is obviously so much more than what urban transit and travel do to one’s soul and existence. It’s a story of three siblings who have to travel to Seoul from a nearby satellite City ( E.g people traveling from Thane / Panvel / Vashi to corporate areas in Mumbai) and how this affects their workplace relationships, participation, and ability to enjoy a normal life, where they can find some time for personal hobbies and rejuvenation, or even Date people for that matter.
I love the dynamic between the siblings and their relationship with their parents. They are a bunch of introverts and extroverts living together, negotiating the physical space they live in and tiptoeing around each other’s sensitivities and hot buttons. The writing in these scenes is TOP NOTCH and the dry humour is unexpectedly LOL.
I am quite curious about how the entire show will eventually pan out, whether the siblings will find people they can date and see a future with, whether or not their workplaces and colleagues will give them space to grow, what mysteries lie ahead, what skeletons will fall from Mr Gu’s cupboard and so so much more.
